Originally known as Pieśń Legionów Polskich we Włoszech or “Song of the Polish Legions in Italy”, it is probably best known as Jeszcze Polska nie zginęła or “Poland Is Not Yet Lost”.
Wybicki a poet, first penned the lyrics as a poem with six stanzas and a chorus in the late 18th century.
Around 1926 after many variations of the song, it was adopted as the Republic of Poland’s national anthem.
